Erie officials appoint C Herman Grose from Mt Lebanon Township to lead the Erie school system with a salary range of 8000 to 8500 dollars. He will also replace R Stan Scobell as finance and business administration head during Diehl’s unexpired term. Scobell on leave after illness. Man With Broken Back After Ceiling Collapse at Kane Plant
Aug 8 Fred Mondat 24 was admitted to Community hospital after a section of the blowpit ceiling at Castenea paper mill in Johnsonburg collapsed two days earlier. He may have a broken back as doctors fear a spinal fracture. Mondat worked at the mill and was the only reported injury. Police and hospital staff prepared to x ray to confirm the diagnosis.
