Dancer Secures SBA Aid After Flood Loss
Heidi McCarthy better known as The Snake Dancer in Binghamton received a 2740 SBA loan to replace an Indian python and props lost when the June floods along New York’s southern tier devastated a Corning lounge. Velvet, her eight foot partner, vanished with costumes and job, prompting McCarthy to seek a new reptile to resume her act. She plans to use most funds to locate and ship a replacement python and must buy it unseen due to temperament concerns.
