State Police detain three young men in DuBois for questioning over several Pennsylvania thefts, including a Ridgway incident. The trio carried about a thousand nickels and dimes allegedly stolen from pinball machines and cigarette vendors.
Erie broker Fay William Hostetler died Tuesday leaving more than $120,000 in personal property and real estate to 45 beneficiaries. The will, drawn in 1941, provides at least $1,800 yearly to his housekeeper of 17 years, Mrs Frieda Prana Bick, with distributions to churches hospitals and other charities.
Washington August 7 The United States will revert October 1 to wartime steel export controls requiring government approval of both recipient and use.
