Police seek the driver of a hit and run car after a man walking near Union City toward his home on Cooper Road near Route 8 was seriously injured. He suffered a crushed right shoulder with a possible amputation, head and hip injuries, and possible internal injuries. An initial theory links the crash to a car driven ahead of the offender’s vehicle. A Ford driven by William Short was stopped after signaling at Route 8 when another car, a Chevrolet driven by Harry Peterson, collided with Short’s Ford. The Chevrolet sustained about $100 damage.
