More Fires This Year Than In 1914
Records from Corry Fire Department show the first six months of the year have more fires than the same period in 1914. There were twelve fires in the first half of 1914 and twenty four for the full year, while this year has nine fires to date. Most fires were not serious, except the Worry Wrench Factory incident. Last year’s costliest blazes were at the Pennsylvania Railroad freight house and Bennett Bath House. Prompt company response and business precautions limited damage.
