Powder Trust Buys Fabrikeid Plant in Newburgh
In Newburgh on August 4, the Fabrikaid works, touted as the world’s largest artificial leather plant, was sold to the Powder company of Wilmington Delaware for about 73 million dollars. The plant was moved into the Dupont network, with the deal closing last Thursday at the Fabricold company offices. Dupont will continue manufacturing artificial leather at the Newburgh site, expanding their control of the industry nationwide to 36 plants.
