Glenn King, 52, was shot in the head Thursday afternoon at his home in Erie. He was taken to Hamot Hospital for emergency surgery to remove a 22 caliber bullet and was reported in better condition. Housekeeper Edna May Teriwillizer, also in Erie County, was charged with assault with intent to kill after an argument at King's residence. Police say the couple had been drinking and King reportedly handed the gun to her before the shooting.
In Steuben County, a two year old boy drowned in the Canisteu River while attempting to save an eight year old. Roger Abbey and Gordon H. Risley entered the water fully clothed. Risley exhausted and drowned. Both bodies recovered.
