MEADVILLE A Springboro man Edward Pardee age 36 was arrested by Pennsylvania State Police for illegal manufacture of alcohol after a raid on his residence yesterday morning. He was arraigned before District Justice Charles C Rea released on $5000 bail with a hearing set later. Officers from state police Liquor Control Board agents and U S Treasury raided about two miles east of Springboro at 533 finding a still and about 15 gallons of alcohol consigned.
MEADVILLE Homer Hart 30 of A D 2 Cochranton is in guarded condition at St Vincent Hospital Erie after a golf ball struck his temple during a Sleepy Hollow tournament near Cooperstown. He drove home unaware of the injury. His condition worsened with slurred speech and paralysis, leading to surgery for a blood clot. Hart, a 1972 Alliance College biology graduate, is a deputy game protector.
Gerry New York hosts the 28th annual Gerry Volunteer Firemen's Rodeo opening today with 107 entries in cowboy and cowgirl events and prize money around 6,943 last year. Six contest events include saddle bronc, bareback, steer wrestling, calf roping, bull riding, and girls barrel racing. performances start 8:30 p m nightly with matinees 2:30 p m Saturday and Sunday.

An 11-year-old Meadville boy is in critical condition at Hamot Medical Center Erie with head injuries from a car bicycle crash yesterday afternoon. John Gladis rode out of Meadville Area Senior High School parking lot and was struck by Michael David Yoder driving west. He was treated by Meadville Ambulance Service at Spencer Hospital and later moved to Hamot. City police are continuing the investigation.
