Just a Paragraf Cross and Co Construction of Union City submitted a tentative bid of 6293.75 to the Suite Public School Building Authority for a driveway and parking lot at Harbor Creek High School. The Authority has 60 days to study the bid and award the contract.
A head-on collision near Franklin involving a U S Postal Service truck and a car injured driver Zane McGill of Polk while postal worker Robert Watters of Pittsburgh escaped unharmed. The crash caused about 1650 in damage split between the car and truck, with the mail subsequently arriving in Corry later that day.
MEADVILLE The death of Loretta Rowelt, 28, found electrocuted in the back yard, was ruled accidental by Dr Daniel Maloney. Cpl Earl Schulz said she touched bare wires on a shed roof while pirating power, causing instant death. Weisman, who hid the wire, faces questioning. no charges filed.

Dr Amos E Neyhart executive secretary of the Governor s Traffic Safety Council was arrested for speeding near Lewis Run McKean County and clocked at 60 mph in a 30 mph zone. He was fined 15 dollars and given a warning as a first offender. Neyhart, resident of Boalsburg near State College, serves as director of the Institute of Public Safety at Penn State University and was visiting the South.
Hollywood actor Charles Lawebton was listed in satisfactory condition at Cedars of Lebanon Hospital after emergency surgery for a collapsed vertebra. He was admitted Monday night following the incident.
In Prospect Park Delaware County 74 year old Mary McGettigan was found dead in her kitchen on Wednesday. Her brother in law William Buskirk 75 argued with her over eggs then allegedly threatened her with a wrench. A struggle left a knife in her possession and Buskirk reportedly ended with the weapon. He suffered a heart attack and was taken to Taylor Hospital after being found near the Darby Creek mumbling about drowning. Police plan to question him when his condition allows.
In Kansas City a Trans World Airlines jet and an American Airlines Boeing 707 carrying 117 people avoided collision over central Kansas. FAA blamed human error at the radar center, suspending a controller and an air traffic coordinator pending investigation. Captain Davis of the TWA Convair reportedly steered right to miss the incoming 707. Both planes were at 33,000 feet traveling about 600 mph.
President Kennedy joked about his health during a news conference amid laughter. A report notes his back was discussed after a long interval since his last public health update.
