Victoria Kasprzyk, 52, confessed to stabbing her husband Teofil, 57, with an ax four times in the East Branch area. United Press dispatch reports Nationalists in the Teruel area claim to have repulsed a Loyalist attack after fierce close combat. Nationalist forces pursue fleeing Loyalist troops, with estimates of 400 to 3,000 Loyalists escaping and a mobile pursuit by cavalry and infantry.
Senator Harry B Byrd denounced the administration sponsored executive reorganization bill as placing vast power in the president for an indefinite period and requiring a two thirds vote for Congress to wield authority. Dr Charles E Merriam testified in support before a special Senate committee. Byrd chairs a separate committee seeking to trim bureaus and agencies rather than expand presidential power.

Three Titusville young men died and a fourth was seriously injured when their car veered off the Greenville Sandy Lake road eight miles east of Greenville. Driver James W Teed 28 and Paul C Osborne 23 died at Greenville Hospital with head injuries while Laula Fiske 29 died there later. Ellis R Day 88 and Conat Uon no, serious injuries. Osborne is believed to have fallen asleep at the wheel after a late-night stop in Greenville following a weekend visit to Cleveland expositio.
Aug. 2 Willi trapped in crisis, Joseph Toploito, 68, of Lemnerville, near here, attempted to shoot his wife Marie then killed himself with a shotgun as daughter Elizabeth intervened. Marie later used a shotgun to kill himself. He left a wife, three sons, and two daughters, believed stressed by financial troubles.
United Press reports Rep Christopher D Sullivan was named leader of Tammany Hall succeeding James J Doling who died suddenly a week ago in New York on August 2.
A strike by about 1800 truck men, helpers, and dock workers was called in Cincinnati by officers of Local 100 of the chauffeurs' union. Demands were tied to employers for an exorptant wage rise and working conditions reform.
Congressional leaders, buoyed by a Senate vote on the labor standards bill, rush to push the Roosevelt program through before adjournment. Southern Democrats oppose the measure, aided by some House Republicans, threatening to defeat the bill. John Buddy Amacher twenty two of Corry, visiting his hometown, sustained serious injuries when his motor cycle hit a manhole cover at the West Washington and West Wayne streets intersection. He was thrown to the pavement and later taken to his home in Kilbyler Me Elloy. Witnesses described him as badly shaken and seriously injured.
Erie Pa Aug 2 Charles I Kasnerer former millionaire broker was held for September grand jury on a charge of fraudulent conversion. His arrest followed an investigation into complaints that he misused thousands of dollars of clients' money. Kasner waived preliminary hearing before Alderman Paul Watson and was remanded to county jail in default of 80000 bond.
Nine bodies recovered and about 80 people unaccounted for after a collision one mile off Piraeus between the steamships Anastanasy and Hydra while carrying expeditionists from Shy ReguNes Hinds. Rescue efforts continue as details trickle in.

A Salamanca woman, Mrs Alice Grinder aged 78, died from injuries suffered in an automobile crash at Kits tanning street bridge Friday night. Her sister in law Mrs Prigenita Roberts 83 of Lynn Massachusetts and Joan L Haley Jr 11 grandson of Mrs Roberts also died from their injuries.
