Real estate transfer recorded at the Erie County courthouse shows Delilah Daily transferring property to Barry L. Bugbee in Corry First Ward. Warren County 4-H members to contest at Penn State. 1 000 4-H youth compete in statewide events.
Four Corry teachers join a pilot project across Crawford Erie and Warren Counties to implement independent study in social studies. A five day Edinboro State College workshop leads the effort with Eileen Dunbar Joseph Frisina Carl Linborg and Leroy Peck among local participants.
23 year old John Norman Collins of Ypsilanti was arrested on a first degree murder charge in the slaying of Karen Sue Beineman an Eastern Michigan University coed found July 27 in a rural ravine. Authorities linked him to the motorcyclist seen with Beineman and noted he had access to a police officer’s home while the officer was away.
Floyd H Fralick 49 of Bloomfield Township Union City died unexpectedly at home. Born May 7 1920 in Concord Township near Corry he served in WW II and worked at several local firms. Survived by wife Mary Coe three daughters two sons three sisters and two brothers. Visitation Bracken Funeral Home Sunday and Monday 2-4 7-9 p.m. Services Monday 2 p.m. with Rev Gene Bartmas.
Meadville police investigated two shooting incidents last night. One injury involved Frank Leonhart with a left thigh wound from a cocked revolver accident. Albert Cox was charged with pointing a deadly weapon after a shotgun incident. Lillie Brown was struck by pellets but not seriously hurt.
The Christian Missionary and Alliance Church of Union City conducted a funeral service officiated by a local pastor. Interment followed at West Spring Creek Cemetery. The notice ends urging readers to enjoy Tue Journal daily.
James A. Brutcher, formerly a customer service representative for the Pennsylvania Gas Company in Erie, is named commercial manager of the Corry district office. He joined in 1956 and has worked in distribution operations, customer service and construction before transferring to the Erie commercial office in 1966. Brutcher, a Cathedral Prep graduate with studies at Gannon College, replaces Ernest W. Nagle who resigned to take a position in the immediate Erie area.
