A man named Langworthy died after a fall while attempting to move hay at a farm near Hay on the Tr Drake south of Unionity. He was injured when he fell from a wagon and later died at Cory Hospital after being transferred there in the early evening.
An Indiana grand jury probe into Ku Klux Klan activities and political corruption unfolds with testimonies from Hewat and others. The special prosecutor Be W. Johndoni outlines potential future witnesses as the grand jury reconvenes after a recess.

Triplets born Saturday at Cory Hospital to Mr and Mrs Charlee Mase of Concord Ridge. Two boys and one girl, each weighing around seven pounds total, were delivered. Mother and babies reported to be doing well.

Detroit August 1 United Press reports pilot Paul Redfern announced his record flight plan. He has completed a plane funded for the voyage to Rio de Janeiro covering over 4200 miles with a christening at Brianwick and a launch scheduled for Thursday.
Lindbergh and the Spirit Of St Louis lifted from Buffalo for Jamestown Naval Air Station as the eleventh leg of the tour. He is due to circle Jamestown then head to Cleveland via Erie Pennsylvania. About 40,000 packed the airport. heat and crowds caused thirteen women to faint and many people to be jostled. The departure was delayed from ten o'clock.
Naomi Grafton aged 12 and her brother Omar aged 7 were killed when lightning struck a tree near their North Buffalo Township home in Armstrong County. Several other children and their mother Mrs. Robert Grafton were stunned by the bolt as she stood on the back porch within sight of the accident.

A Erie man Cooper, owner of a cement plant, drowned while rescuing his 1d year old son Robert and attempting to save 5 year old Suv in Lake Canada near Titusville. The tragedy follows recent similar drownings during the season at the lake resort, with other party members shaken by the accident.
