Bank cashier pleads guilty in Pittsburgh case
Former Ta cashier George R. Schiarella of the New Kensington National Bank suddenly changed his plea to guilty today as his trial started in Federal District Court on charges of embezzlement amounting to 8191934 dollars. Judge William A. Stewart will sentence the 69 year old banker later. Schiarella is the third defendant to plead guilty to embezzlement involving officials and employees of the same bank.

TWO SOVIET JETS FIRE UPON FRENCH PLANE
A four engined American Douglas airliner received damage from two Soviet jets but continued its half hour flight to Berlin. Passengers scattered as the incident occurred at Templehof. crew was interrogated by US airport authorities while the terminal burned and flights were briefly cancelled.
