Erie school board approves 14 mill levy for 1932 33

In a closed meeting at the library the Erie board of education set the 14 mill school tax for the 1932 33 year. The 10 percent salary cut for all district employees except teachers will be used as a reserve fund awaiting delinquent taxes, with about 160 000 expected to be placed in the fund. Two directors opposed the levy rate, John MacDonald and James I Speed, the former urging at least a half mill decrease.
