Evacuation Flights Delayed Over Saigon Bombing
U S officials reported South Vietnamese pilots dropping bombs on Tan Son Nhut near Saigon caused a temporary halt to evacuation flights. Reports suggest mainly South Vietnamese air force pilots were involved, with no clear confirmation of North Vietnamese involvement. By midnight 128 Americans evacuated that day, 954 Americans remained in Saigon, and about 6,000 South Vietnamese were rescued. Congress moved toward final approval of a 327 million dollar humanitarian aid bill and potential limited use of U S forces for evacuations.

Coal Miners Pay Rises Eight Cents Thursday
Washington AP reports coal miners will get eight cents more per hour starting Thursday under a cost of living clause in the United Mine Workers contract. This follows a seven-cent raise on February 1, with underground miners and construction workers gaining about $6 extra per 40 hour week. If inflation stays at eight percent through December 1977, the provision could add $7.84 to daily wages.
