Local W C I U Poster Contest Draws Praise and Plans
A lively fifth and sixth grade poster contest hosted by the W C I U drew praise from director Mrs Lottie Black and staff. Thirty entries arrived from two schools and will be judged tonight with prizes awarded next week. May meetings include a Mother's Day gathering and a public Child Welfare event with invitations to participate in Memorial Day ceremonies. A memorial protest by college students at the state capital drew attention to opposing Prohibition repeal and ratification, urging enforcement of the Eighteenth Amendment. A semimonthly Prayer Band and social hour followed, with a dainty reception served by the publicity committee.
