Public meeting in Syracuse will discuss proposed rules governing qualification of dairy cooperatives under amended New York state and federal milk marketing orders. Dr. C. J. Blanford announced the session starts at 10 am at Hotel Syracuse, continuing prior January sessions.
President Peron’s vice presidential candidate Rear Admiral Teissarre led an overwhelming win in Argentina. Official returns from 4,594 of 38,309 precincts gave Teissarre 869,267 votes to 342,250 for Radical Crisciogo Larralde. The government swept provincial and city offices. Radicals lost seats in the House, with the Senate likely Peronista. The Communists polled a smaller share than 1951.
Federal and state negotiators urged Pittsburgh Railways Co and an AKL union to continue talks to avert a 2700 employee strike that could halt the steel city transit system. AFL AME rail employes voted to strike at midnight Friday pending a new contract.
