Casey Seeks End to PTAA and Direct Transit Subsidies
Harrisburg AP report notes Auditor General Robert P. Casey calls for direct subsidies to mass transit and abolition of the Pennsylvania Transportation Assistance Authority. He criticizes the PTAA as nonfunctional beyond funneling debt funds to transit agencies and cites parallels with the General State Authority. He argues both bodies were created to bypass constitutional limits and that PTAA bonds use state credit. he also references past GSA abolition urging.
