Erie writer freed after letter scheme investigation

Erie 36 year old Charles Frederick Flynn Jr was released by police after being held for a new investigation into a letter he admitted leaving in a restaurant seeking nude model poses. District Attorney McLaughlin said the dropping of charges related to the mail scam due to lack of use of mail and old racket. Flynn admitted leaving two similar letters in other local places and used the alias Jim Norris to solicit models and promises of payment. He said the nude photo project was a misguided artistic venture, and police were told he planned to destroy any related material.
