Kroh Acquitted of Murder in Virginia Case
Brookville Virginia April 24 A verdict of not guilty was returned in the Kroh murder case after a lengthy trial. Mrs Bertha Kroh admitted firing the fatal shot that killed George Osborn on February 28 claiming self defense. The defense noted she was with her two young children at the time. More than 100 witnesses were summoned. Kroh was the second woman tried for murder in Jefferson County.

Youth sought in Corydon burglary case in Warren County
A 28 year old youth named Charles Oweny was sought by Warren County authorities for burglary. Police reported the man was last seen around Corydon Pa with cash, a rifle, a dog and clothing taken in a March theft. McKean County police later stated the burglary occurred there, not Warren County, delaying authorities pursuit. Weld participated in a boxing exhibition at George Institute last week.

Warren Pa April 24 Richard Coon a 20 year old man attempted suicide by taking a vial of oil of vitrol at Ventures Town near the home of his wife's parents. He swallowed the contents, collapsed, and was rushed to a doctor who evacuated the stomach. He survived but may never fully recover. his brother Perry recently lost an arm in an accident at Struthers-Well Company.
