In Defiance Ohio EleTronics Inc of Warren Pennsylvania failed to gain control on the local Defiance board winning three of six seats. ElTronics had proposed five directors while Defiance Industries won three seats. Victor Muserside and others may file challenges. Defiance reported 14 million shares and $35 million in sales. ElTronics posted $7.4 million in nine months of 1968.

Harrisburg AP reports a survey of cereal leaf beetle damage will begin May 1 in 25 Pennsylvania counties. The pest has been present in western Pennsylvania since 1967 and can severely affect grain fields. Inspectors will cover Adams, Bedford, Blair, Bradford, Cambria, Cameron, Centre, Chester, Clearfield, Clinton, Cumberland, Elk, Franklin, Fulton, Huntingdon, Jefferson, Juniata, Lancaster, Lycoming, McKean, Perry, Potter, Somerset, Tioga, and York counties, with possible extension to nearby grain areas.
