The Corry Civil Defense unit led by Executive Director Clifford Holcomb will join the nationwide Operation Alert 1960 tests from Wednesday to Sunday. On Friday at 4 PM a Take Cover drill will halt traffic and cue pedestrians to seek shelter as Conelrad tests begin coast to coast.

Factories payrolls are 32 900 with little net change, non manufacturing jobs rise to 39 400, and 8 025 seek unemployment benefits in the week ending March 28. Temporary Extended Unemployment benefits apply to 1 500 displaced workers as 3 500 graduates enter the labor market.
A 1 year old Corry youth named Jerry Hamilton is in satisfactory condition at Corry Memorial Hospital after a motorcycle fall on East South Street. Police say the cycle hit bumps, causing loss of control and injuries to the back head arms and legs. He was admitted for observation and to undergo X rays.
The Corry centennial sisters announce a planning session at the YMCA tomorrow night. Led by Mrs D Armour Hillstrom the women will host an old fashioned style show, fashion events, teas, lawn parties, historic tours, and Gay Nineties picnics as part of the centennial celebration.
Richard Hanson 28 of Johnsonburg died after falling 24 feet while cleaning an empty sulfuric tank at Binghau Products Co in Johnsonburg Pennsylvania. Coroner said he fractured his skull and appeared to lose his footing while cleaning the tank interior top.

City police were alerted to a Bailey car incident after Lawrence Haner of Ponder's Service Station North Center Street reported the vehicle entered the lot, stopped, and struck a plate glass window.
Aero received from the National Safety Council a plaque for third place in the annual national safety contest among aircraft and rocket engine plants. Director Jon Wilson said the award honors plants with million man hours without a lost-time accident, covering January 1 to December 1, 1960.
