Ernest Roble announces the consolidation of Jamestown Business College with Warren Business College. The merged entity will be known as Jamestown Business College and operate at the Jamestown site. Warren College will cease daytime classes May 22 with most students transferring to Jamestown.

Police gunfire halts fleeing Kane taxi thieves near Tylersburg
Erie brothers Garland Ray 26 and Donald Boyd 24 were forced to surrender after an 80 mile per hour chase through Kane to near Tylersburg. Police said carbine bullets ripped the stolen taxi as the men were captured around 11 p.m. The taxi driver Lloyd Chamberlin was dumped from the vehicle at Wowinckle unharmed after a two hour ordeal at knifepoint.
