Judge sentences young car thieves in Mayville court
Mayville May 24 Judge Hugh V N Bodine told James fown parents and youths that Robert James Burns 16 of Jamestown was adjudged a youthful offender and given not more than three years at a state vocational institution for three counts of grand larceny. Austin Merle Johnson and Francis Eugene Johnson both 16 remain in county jail with $2000 bail each after bail was discharged last week and their cases paused for probation review and adjourned for three weeks to May 6 pending further action.

Erie TB Hospital adds wings and new dormitory plan
County commissioners informally approve preliminary additions to the Erie County Tuberculosis Hospital. Architects Meyers and Johnson will draft final plans for wings at the ends of the main building plus a nurses home, dormitory for domestic workers, and a boiler house with laundry. Hospital board already approved layouts. costs and start date 1946 uncertain.

Bakers Confer At Erie To Plan Cutting Flour
A bread rationing program for Pennsylvania, Ohio and New York districts seems certain after Erie bakers joined eight city representatives at the Erie M C A to draft a plan in line with a government flour cut order. The meeting included Pittsburgh, Warren, Meadville, Buffalo, Cleveland, Jamestown and Ashtabula, with about 25 to 30 Erie bakers present.

Fisher Case Before Grand Jury May Ist
The Commonwealth will seek murder indictments against Mike Bubna Millie Thomas and Mike Dominic on May 1 for the March murder of Robert Fisher. If handed up Bubna and Millie face trial May 14 while Dominic's date would follow. McLaughlin plans a full day to present testimony to the grand jury. Public admission to trials will be on a first come basis with no tickets.
