Bond Issue Favored Over Tax Increase by Taxpayers
At a Municipal building meeting 100 to 125 taxpayers urged the Board of Education to issue short term bonds instead of a two and a half mill property tax increase. Former Mayor Frank T. Bagland chaired the session led by John B. Patterson. The petition, supported by many locals including Mrs. E C Barnes, was adopted as the final action and goes to the school directors for the May 18 meeting.
