Quarantine placed after state official inspected cattle and confirmed diagnosis by Dr Roswell. Federal officers will arrive this afternoon. Seven head to be exterminated under order.
Officials indicate a farm outbreak of foot and mouth disease traced to cattle from the Greenfield area. Drs Roswell Hendricks and local authorities confirm diagnosis and quarantine. Cattle to be destroyed after inspection. reimbursement planned. Arrests possible if violators are found.

Erie police confined twenty two men at the county jail on suspicion of involvement in the dynamiting of the Leona home on Franklin Street which killed Samuel Leona. Officers, with County Protective Sullivan, grilled suspects one by one and hopes were high for placing Bud Poct Kid before night. The case yielded few sensational details beyond arrests and the victim's son’s assertion about knowing who caused the blast.
