Ignorance on borrowing right noted by Corry district officials
Corry Area School District officials said they are glad to be ignorant of the expiration of the constitutional right to borrow money. The right expires Sunday and districts needing funds must obtain state certification. Secretary E. S. Anderson said the district has never borrowed and typically has enough money. The issue hinges on proposed 1968 constitutional changes awaiting Senate reconvening May 1 that would base debt limits on municipal revenue rather than assessed property values.
