At a regular meeting last night the council approved a motion to place on the books a plan outlining the use of a $20 000 grant promised by county commissioners for recreation development here The move followed informal approvals by commissioners earlier this year and a formal accounting request by attorney William A Peiffer acting as a messenger for the commissioners The mayor noted the delegation presenting the request included city officials and the golf commissioner Peiffer pressed for a formal letter requesting the funds while the mayor considered it official enough
County commissioners met to consider Curry’s request for 90000 dollars for recreation. Without the formal request due to attorney illness they approved a 5000 dollar annual payment for four years and prepared to forward a letter of intent to Corry City Council. This enables the City Golf Commission to borrow 80000 dollars as its share in a matching fund plan to start a municipal golf course project. Mayor Zalzneck welcomed the letter of intent as the necessary step to proceed.
