Final decision due on sales tax this week
Harrisburg Republicans push a two percent sales tax plan with a possible one percent lighter option. House leaders say a vote could occur tomorrow or Wednesday as Democrats oppose the measure and Governor's budget balance remains a factor. Local districts await possible revenue shifts as party leaders weigh alternative taxes if the sales tax fails. In other news a small boat overturn on the Juniata River near Raystown claims life, with one drowning and a child saved.
