Washington April 20 Forty two Americans serving with the AEF under French command were cited for valor during heavy combat. The War Department released the names of those cited, noting they recovered wounded, aided others, and displayed courage under fire.
A Domed. of Education special meeting will announce nest year plans and the Third Liberty Loan poster contest for schools. Supt. Wilson will depart, Nagel named acting superintendent, and voters will choose the most popular poster by school drive aided by Sunday Schools and local committees. The winning school gets a engraved Loving Cup. posters judged by May 4 with entries returned by Sunday School members.
A morning blaze at Warren damaged two blocks at the corner of Pennsylvania Avenue and West Street. Fire concluded with the Butterine store and adjacent Jensen’s needlework and Simonsen’s paint and wallpaper shops fully destroyed. Estimated loss around $7000.
