Three Juveniles Arrested Near Tamarack Swamp Beer Party
Three unnamed juveniles were arrested near a Tamarack Swamp site on charges of alcohol consumption possession and transportation by minors. A car with beer was stopped by troopers on the way to the party and several suspects fled. Some juveniles were turned over to school officials with suspensions looming for truancy. Police destroyed the beer found at the scene. A large number of students were believed absent from school, with Lou Hanna to sort out the truancy. Russell Brant, CAHS principal, offered no comment regarding official measures beyond standard suspensions. A separate note reports a $200,000 legacy aiding needy students in Elmira.
