State May Act Result of Fatal Gas Explosion

District Attorney G B Strath of Elk County said he would decide on potential criminal action after reviewing state police and county detective reports on the Johnsonburg gas explosion that killed three of seven family members. The victims include Ralph Flegal 26 Irene 26 and a ten month old daughter who died from burns. The coroner blamed a leaky gas line due to negligence by Ridgway Natural Gas Co. The home owners protested at the inquest that the leak had been reported by Flegal who had no gas for over six months due to unpaid bill. The company had a worker remove pipes Saturday evening after the accident.
