Rev Wagner to Serve as Army Chaplain in Corry
The congregation will consider a recommendation to permit Rev Wagner to answer the call to serve with the armed forces. He plans to leave Corry in about a week to assume chaplain duties at Fort Custer on April 29. He will be the second minister from the town to take a chaplain post, joining Rev Kuhn, now with U S Navy forces in the Pacific. Mrs Wagner and their child will stay in Corry until they can join him.

Salvation Army praised for prompt disaster relief efforts
Capt John Morrison cited the Salvation Army readiness to help in emergencies as he sought space for the annual appeal. The Army ran a second level canteen at the Noy Monde 15S Lefsyette disaster site in New York assisting police, soldiers, and volunteers. Major Edward McMahon and Major George Baggs coordinated food and drink distribution, with Red Shield trucks moving 660 gallons of coffee 1200 dozen scones and 1450 sandwiches to the scene. Cadet Catherine Wells, a former Glory sir, helped run coffee service and will be commissioned as an officer in June.

Ronald DeSantis two year old son of Mr and Mrs Otto DeSantis died Friday after a local lumber truck struck him on Webster Street near Main in Bradford. Coroner Thomas R Clark said the child died of a fractured neck and skull fracture. The truck was driven by William J Gorman 23.
