The youths are described as 18 to 20, one in blue jacket and one in a T shirt.
Ned Price, 53, of Shade Gap, was shot in the leg last night behind his home in Huntingdon County. Doctors amputated his left leg below the knee. Police link the attack to a pattern of five similar unsolved shootings in southeastern Huntingdon County. Six victims, two wounded, others shot at or missed. Authorities consider a single perpetrator possibly responsible. Drownings reported as eight boats sank during a religious procession in Andhra State, Madras, India.
Fairbanks AP reports a new Good Friday quake struck Alaska causing rattled dishes and windows in Nome and northern Eskimo villages. no tidal wave expected and only shattered windows reported in one village. The 1964 quake on Good Friday caused 115 deaths and extensive destruction.
Detectives sought five youths in Sydney after they doused William Henry Hill in methyl alcohol and set him ablaze while he slept in a suburban bus shelter. Passersby, a doctor, and two nuns helped extinguish the flames. Hill died from his injuries.
A Pittsfield man, Paul Abraham, 34, faced drunken driving charges after his car rear ended a parked pickup owned by Glenn Shufflebeam on North Center Street at 3:30 a.m. The impact pushed the truck 15 feet. Abraham’s car was a total loss. the truck sustained about 400 dollars in damage. Passenger Glenn Raley, 28, Irving, Texas, required treatment for facial lacerations.
