El Circulo Espanol at Corry Area High School invited guests to a Spanish dinner in the home economics department on Monday evening. The event featured Spanish and Mexican motifs, with nut cups shaped like long-horned bulls as favors and a festive exotic theme.
The column records local residents returning from Florida and Pennsylvania trips, a 78th birthday celebration at Quiet Acres Nursing Home, and upcoming club meetings. It highlights the Ladies Evening Golf League kickoff, a postponed Bloomfield visitation, a West Hampton visit by the Hunts, and a Dairy Lea Cooperative slide event with a Mexico themed menu and local leaders listed.
Parents and teachers of Wright School sixth graders host a card party in the school gym Monday evening. Proceeds fund a field trip and lunch for about 60 students at end of the school year. Also covered are a Women’s Society of Christian Service meeting at First United Methodist Church with devotions, a district meeting notice, a mother and daughter banquet in May, a wedding announcement for Betty Brader and Roger F. Hill, and a Corry area alumni dinner with early reservations emphasized.
The Lillian Guild of Emmanuel Episcopal Church met in the church undercroft with Betty Pratt presiding. Final plans were made for the Episcopal Church Women District 1 meeting in Corry next Wednesday, with George Peck as general chairman. Rev Gordon Irvine of Erie gave an informative talk on Christian Associates of Metropolitan Erie.
