Chicago reports claim Minals Central rail line was swindled in a conspiracy. Investigations and disclosures estimate losses from one to five million dollars, with President Harahan expected to depart soon and W. G. Parks stepping in as acting head.

Horace Davis, an Irishman, was arrested after throwing a stone through the Times of London office window. He told the magistrate he harbored a grudge against the newspaper and was remanded for further hearing.
