Special train races through Corry as T D Collins dying son nears end
An engine with a passenger coach hurtled through Corry at high speed this morning, carrying a son of T D Collins of Nebraska en route to his dying father. Collins Sr, 84, frail at the family lumber holdings, was not expected to live through the afternoon. The journey was described as record breaking, aided by special trains and a locomotive awaited at Sheffield to guide the final leg to Forest County. Word from Warren later said Collins Sr remained alive but near death.

United Press reports Harry J. Thaw’s writ of habeas corpus was denied a formal discharge as Judge Aldenley held constitutional rights do not bind when custody is contested on insanity charges. The court left ball undecided and allowed time for appeal to the U.S. Supreme Court.

The twenty third annual Easter Monday L C B A ball drew over 150 couples and drew a larger crowd to the concert portion. Supper was delicately decorated and well patronized. the event was largely successful.

Mrs Mulkie Dead. Rites Planned At West Pleasant
Mrs F 5 Mulkie longtime Corry resident died today at the Hospital after months as patient. She leaves husband Frank B Mulkie Jr and a number of cousins. Funeral Thursday at the residence on West Pleasant St with interment in Pin Grove Cemetery. She was born Orlsca M Steward in Panama and married Frank E Mulkie Sept 6 478. She had lived here since the sixties and spent winters in Pittsburgh. A devout Episcopal and respected by many friends here and elsewhere.

Seven Die in Boston Hasidic Apartment Fire
A deadly blaze at the Ubirky Klohenet Apartments in Boston killed seven residents early this morning. Firefighters found the building ablaze on arrival and bodies were recovered from balconies. Mrs Adams escaped using a sheet rope but several others perished including Mrs Bemis and J R Power family members. One woman named Hazel is missing. Losses exceed $100000.
