Wrong Way Best Way Easter Party for Cardiac Patients
CHICAGO AP A truck driver named Eddie Shields 52 plans Easter Sunday parties for about 90 young cardiac patients at La Rabide sanitarium in Jackson Park. He started the events after getting lost on his route 25 years ago and discovering the hospital. Shields funds the party and other gifts from comic acts, giving proceeds to the sanitarium for a 250000 wing he hopes to build, hoping his name on the wing will show his kids he did something meaningful.

Acme Bakery Workers Walkout Cuts Materials Loss
In Philadelphia Acme Markets says a 4 percent hour stoppage led to a loss of at least 60 000 worth of baking materials. About 50 workers walked out Friday at the West Philadelphia bakery leaving ovens on and thousands of loaves and dough vats behind. Local 16 union president Paul Turlish said management tried shifting production to shipping. A shop steward was suspended and workers returned after the company agreed to investigate complaints. Acme serves 200 Philadelphia area markets and rushed orders to other bakeries to prevent Easter shortages.

Virginia Senator Byrd argues President Kennedy's requested FY1964 budget would authorize about 1961 billion in federal obligations. He suggests possible cuts of about 12 billion from new appropriations, reviews of unspent balances, and trimming stockpiled surpluses. The Journal notes some lawmakers seek tighter spending and public concern over Congress’s work.
