Merger Delays Hurting Conelway School Costs
Conelway School districts in Wayne and Concord townships and Elgin Borough face rising tuition to Corry schools for the 1967 term as they wait for a merged district to cover expenses. State Senator Willard’s inquiry reveals stalled reorganizations, inapplicability of Act 385, repeal of union provisions, and need for new legislation. Corry Jointure’s merger with Sparta and Union City is blocked by appeals, delaying hoped savings. 15 000 Peace Corps volunteers expected by April 1968.
