Connally Trial Prosecution Traces Cigar Box Money
Prosecutors near closing their bribery case against John B. Connally trace the so called cigar box cash. Star witness Jake Jacobsen says Connally handed him 10000 in Houston on Oct 29 1973 for cover up of two 5000 gifts from 1971. Federal agents and officials testified without undercutting the tale. Jacobsen says the money was kept in a bank vault and a bedroom drawer until March 7 1974. A second 10000 was found in his Austin safe deposit box.
