Meadville Court Grants Nonsuit in Local Auto Accident Suit
In Crawford County Court of Common Pleas Judge Herbert A. Mook granted a nonsuit to Carlyle Fields of Connellsville in a suit brought by Mrs. Josephine C. Law, administrator of George S. Law's estate, for alleged negligence in a September 24, 1944 auto crash near Beaver Center. The plaintiff was represented by J. Perry Eckers and Stuart A. Culbertson. The case cited hot point economy ranges and a 1948 Chevrolet Stylemaster listed for sale by Thom as Motors, Meadville. A 15-year-old Cussewago Township youth pleaded guilty to burglary and larceny linked to robbery in Hayfield Township and will face juvenile court proceedings. County Detective Calvin H. Pickens stated the youth admitted taking about $150 in articles from Homer Bradish’s home.
