County to lose one state assemblyman in reapportionment
Erie County likely to drop from two to one state assembly seats in Harrisburg under a new reapportionment plan before the 13th session. The bill, reported by elections committee, could advance in both senate and house. Supporters say current plan favors cities with larger populations. counties would gain an extra city seat, reducing county representation. Assemblymen King McCreary and Witzgerald Dinney currently serve east and west areas. Reports last week suggested passage unlikely this session.
