Death of Miss Nugent

Miss Athan Nelle Nugent aged 40 died suddenly at the home of Mrs. William Cullen after a brief illness. She was born in Corry and spent her life here. Survived by a sister and other relatives, she was a lifelong member of the Brangh church. Funeral arrangements awaiting further details.

Three armed robbers in West Carrollton, three miles away, held up a bank and escaped with 425000 in cash and valuables after rounding up bank employees and customers at about noon today.

Washington Association Holds Meeting At Fin Washington School

The Parent-Teacher Association met yesterday afternoon with good attendance and discussed plans for a May community night and end of term events. Volunteers were asked to mark off rounds on the school grounds and install lighting already secured. A short program featured recitations and papers on honesty and school duties, with refreshments waived during the session. Weather marked continued cold tonight with Sunday clouds.

Corry Motor Club Holds Annual Session and Elections

At the Corry Motor Club annual meeting in the Chamber of Commerce room, officers were elected for the coming year including President L. W. Oldaview, Secretary W. D. Marsh, Treasurer B. J. Mollet, and delegates to AA A and Pennsylvania Federation. The group discussed AA A camping guidance, high garage charges, and efforts to curb unlawful auto repairs, with plans to cooperate with AA A and local officials. They also noted a state law pamphlet on ownership signs at public terminals and considered road improvements from Garland to Corry via Spring Creek, pending county and township approvals.

Funeral of Mr Esterbrook Held at Pleasant Street Home

Funeral services for Mr Esterbrook were held this afternoon at the Wat Pleasant Street home with many friends attending. Rev M A Ralston of the Episcopalian church conducted the services and two hymns were sung, “In the Hour of Death” and “While With Me” by Margart Boe and others.
