Alma Philips of Union City spoke last evening at the Corry Public Library observance of National Library Week. She has collected antiques since 1945 and explained methods for establishing antique values.

Miss Denise Shomody bride elect of Mark Clark was honored at a pre nuptial shower in the Colonial Room of the Moose Lodge. Hostesses included Miss Dawn Shomody and Cindy Clark. Attendees from Corry Erie Waterford Spartansburg Columbus Spring Creek. The couple will wed on April 24 at the Assembly of God Church.
The Mentor Club reviewed a Bicentennial Almanac with portraits and dates and hosted a report on Catherine Drinker Bowen’s Miracle at Philadelphia by Helen Rowe. The talk recounted 1787 Philadelphia Convention debates and the birth of the U.S. Constitution, despite heated clashes and state differences.
David Whitney, grandson of Mr and Mrs LaRoy Marratt of Corry, won the Foreign Ministers Award at the Sixth Annual Inter National Children's Art Exhibit in Jay David ty at Third District School Mead ville. His tempera piece Trick or Treat showed two children with sacks amid a starry tree, highlighting a world peace theme through creativity.
Janice Foster of Corry and Michael J. Koppel of Eta are engaged. Miss Foster is a Southfield graduate who attended Oakland College and works at Soap-Tite Inc. The couple plans a future wedding at the bride’s home in 1976.
A bridal shower for Miss Gata Kent bride elect of Paul R. Martin was held at Noble Kent real science. Sue Wascak and Carol Wascak hosted with help from Mrs. Frank Wascak and Mrs. Johm Wascak. Guests enjoyed games and prizes and the couple plans to marry tomorrow at Wayne Valley United Methodist Church Beaverdam.
