Palmer Admits Favoring Wage Increase for Workers
Washington. Congressman A. Mitchell Palmer admitted he helped secure wage increases for Midvale Steel plant workers and other underpaid government employees, denying Senator Penrose’s charge that the moves were votes for his own Senate bid. He cited prior gains for Bethlehem sub-inspectors and criticized Penrose as serving privileged interests while pledging further efforts to reduce night work and raise pay for postal staff.
