Paragraf reports strange sky object near Warren
A resident, Antonio Scordo of Warren, saw an oval pale greenish blue object move across the northwest sky for two to three seconds around 7 30 p.m. It appeared about the size of a car and may have been two miles away, also seen by two local youngsters Curt Lyle and another boy. Local police meanwhile report an arrest on a motor vehicle larceny warrant, Frederick W. Whitmeyer, 22, of 405 Second Avenue, for stealing a car owned by James R. Young. The car wash owner, William Post of Corry, later recovered the vehicle on Second Avenue. The Corry YMCA hosted its Northwest District dinner attended by nearly 50 people. John Borek attended from out of town, and Mrs. Clifford Buesink was elected to the Northwest District Committee. Police recovered a sick appearing black and brown female dog at 621 Wayne and placed it in the city pound. A Corry man Ed win J. Becker, 29, escaped injury when his car struck guard posts while avoiding a headon collision on Route 6 west of Corry. Marriage license filings included Larry Barton and Linda Rhoades. A loss of a green plastic case with three keys was reported. A boy's Schwinn bike was stolen from the Purst home. A weekend preaching mission at the Corry Assembly of God Church runs Friday to Sunday with Rev. Joseph Roma as speaker, representing Italian immigrants in Australia.
