Bombs and plots scourge Humphrey Berlin visit
Police in Berlin seized 11 students and others late Wednesday as they prepared bombs and plastic bags with chemicals for an assault on Vice President Hubert Humphrey during his visit. Authorities said the group, described as a tiny radical faction among politically active students, planned attacks with dangerous instruments and a display along Humphrey's route. The arrest came amid a two week European swing and did not alter Humphrey's schedule including a City Assembly speech and meetings with German leaders.
