A Jamestown city court acquitted Wilson P. Chamberlain of police charges under Section 494 for the conduct of his two sons, ages 10 and 15. The four-woman two-man jury reached the verdict in under ten minutes after hearing testimony that Chamberlain, widowed six years, worked 18 hours daily to support five children and blamed peers for his sons' misbehavior. Detective Chief Elmer E. Lee testified.
State Police from the Lawrence Park barracks continue the search for Dr. Scragg who vanished two weeks ago. Reports say Sarah underwent an appendectomy on March 28 and is hospitalized at Hampt Hospital in Erie. family notes health issues and long work hours may relate to the disappearance.
