Wamrien April 6 500 enrolled in a non profit hospital plan. Warren General Hospital superintendent Lopes explains the plan aims to provide hospital care for 21 days for a small payment, reducing the burden of costs for illness or injury. He notes about 9 percent of county hospital users were surprised by recent needs and that hospital costs are hard to cut.
Ridgway and Borough officials protested House Bill No. 189 at a public meeting in Harrisburg yesterday. Solicitor P Grener represented Ridgway and neighboring boroughs as they filed a remonstrance with the Committee of Municipal Corporations opposing compulsory police service measures.

The review begun a year ago under Millard Davis found the county in excellent condition with some errors corrected and a plan to recover a small amount paid to the state in error.
P W Mipplett of New York division is named division engineer of the Renovo division at Byre succeeding J D Morris who becomes division engineer of the Philadelphia Terminal Division. Mipplett, from Ellins West Virginia, joined Pennsylvania Railroad in 1927 and rose to supervisor after training at University of Marykind. Willis says county treasury errors are being checked and a bill will be paid to the state soon.
