Beatty 42 a Warren Pa oil operator and sportsman believed drowned after his speed boat overturned on ice near the lake early Wednesday afternoon He organized a posse that searched the lake and his boat found stranded on the shore Beatty a director of the Texas Oil Company and of the Warren Pa National Bank was married with two children

Deemun and Candee consulting engineers of Buffalo will draft specifications for a new heating system at the Senior High School. Three proposals were presented: direct radiation with ventilation for about 15000, direct radiation with current ventilation for about 12000, and boiler replacement for around 5000 with no boiler changes. Engineers authorized to prepare specs for all three bids at 3 percent of the winning bid.
Mrs. G. G. Barker, president, led the Ladies Auxiliary of Corry Hospital in a Wednesday meeting with twelve members. They discussed the National Hospital Tag Day fixed for May 12 to benefit the Corry hospital and noted the vanishing bridge project near completion, with the auxiliary aiming to raise two hundred forty six dollars.
Severe weather swept through Kansas and nearby states with cloudbursts and cyclonic winds. Tornadoes damaged towns from Wichita to Coffeyville and Arkansas, with casualties including Mrs. Anna Green and others. Widespread flooding, ruined buildings, and power/communication outages followed as rescue efforts began.
Michael Lynch of East Washington street died at Corrie hospital after an operation. He was a longtime Corry resident, aged around 60, survived by his wife six children and a brother. Funeral services will be Monday at St Thomas Church with burial in St Thomas Cemetery.
